E-learning has been around since 1999, when the term was coined at a seminar in Los Angeles. Since then, the online learning industry has exploded with the advent of online courses, video tutorials and online degrees. While this industry grows, it is still in its infancy with room for innovation and new ways of connecting people through education of the community.
There are currently a handful of companies that provide this growing industry and offer most courses where participants download and complete course material provided by a guardian. Others offer video tutorials with limited access to Guardian and so answers are usually answered within a day or two. A slight majority offer very interactive lessons with a real person in real time. In saying that, there are many technologies that enable real-time teaching, with interactive features such as screen sharing, control screen, see and hear YouTube videos together and listen to the audio directly from each computer to others. Those in areas that lack resources for education are usually top of the list of users for online education. Especially in the West, we are more accustomed to free education at our door and just this is not the case in many countries, especially third world countries. Our education available spoils us and we often forget how much education they have on offer. But in third world countries, for example, access to education is limited or there is an ignorance of where to find that information. This gap limits us as a society and funnels so students in a race condemned in advance. We have now more than ever attention disorders through our schools, with many students citing its simple disinterest. Online education allows room for choice, SO a student can give 100% attention to your passion. Add variety to the styles of teaching with the use of interactive tools, students can be engaged at all times without distractions. Learn from an active member of the industry gives advice for actual use in a real situation. Most of those who teach online are college level, which could lead in the national program and many offer courses free initiation, so you can Hop Skip and Jump until you find the right teacher for you. The convenience of online learning has to be one at the top of the list, obviously not the travel and learn at their own time, at your own pace, with real-time responses, so if you have a question, or you need to write an essay on difficult topic, just ask and you will get a help. An obvious obstacle to learning is not to have the tutor physically there, but the key is in the name, e-learning, it is not a substitute for classical education, but it is definitely something to consider as an extracurricular. As with most online learning technologies is subject to technical gremlins and therefore it is better to have the right equipment. There is much to do to improve the audio and video quality. When connecting a microphone and a quality webcam, you can greatly improve quality. To improve your video lessons: Use a high quality external microphone. A high quality external webcam. Good quality headphones. A large computer screen. Wired internet connection (wireless connections can be unreliable). A speed DSL internet connection (768 kbps upload) or better (not dial-up connections).

These days, you can do almost anything online. You can buy food, find a date, file their tax returns, and even become a star of the reality TV online. Why not go to school online? Online learning was viewed with suspicion, the same way people see these diplomas plant ads in the back of fashion magazines. He graduated from a respected college is simply not the same as the mail a certificate after separation from your credit card on a certain website. And because it is still new, many people do not really know what to expect, of course. Online learning can range from obtaining a college degree online for a short course in the use of a word processor to an online training module for the job. Regardless of how you plan to go, there are advantages and disadvantages of it. The Pros – One reason to go online route is that you work already and simply do not have time to attend classes in person. Want to learn new skills, but you can not take time off work. Online learning means that you need not waste time to and from classes and also means that is not limited by your location. – Online learning is often (but not always) cheaper than classroom learning. As a little bonus, it’s also a little easier on the environment, especially if all the materials are in electronic copy. – Online learning is accessible to people who might not normally be able to attend classes. For example, students with disabilities may find it easier to take online courses. Older students may also feel more comfortable online to attend classes on campus. – Although online learning has been criticized for its lack of face to face interaction, surprisingly, online discussions can get even more complicated than in the classroom. Shy students who do not normally speak in front of their classmates can join online anymore because it gives them the opportunity to think about their answers. Learning is all the time, because it is not limited to the planned classes. Less – The most common complaint about online learning is that there is no face to face interaction. Online learning may lack the spontaneous exchange of ideas that can not be achieved with classmates and a teacher in real time and space. Although you can still interact through chat and email, it is more difficult. Something that could be clear in a minute in person might make the effort of several emails back and forth. – Online learning can be dependent on technology. You can have access to high speed Internet to view training videos or download the necessary files. If something goes wrong with your computer, it’s just that much easier to miss a class or a deadline. – The class dropout rates online is really very high. Being able to pass through an online class requires a lot of discipline. People are motivated by the opportunity to socialize, compete and perform in front of others. Without these factors you grow, you may lose your money for not finishing the class. When it is more effective Given the advantages and disadvantages of online learning, it is likely to be more effective when you can bring together the best elements of learning in the classroom and online technology. For example, you can go for a course that would mark the interesting discussion with people from around the world. Or take a short work training module where you can review the documents with colleagues later. Online learning is a hot topic these days, as millions of dollars are invested in new technologies such as the Internet, with the hope that education at all levels has been revolutionized. Newspapers now have sections characteristics on the Internet and self-help technology books multiply. Technology is often hailed as the “magic pill” that will somehow provide solutions to organizational problems and policies that are endemic to adult education. Continuing education programs for adults and rushing to become actors in the new world of global technology, finding new applications while fearing “left behind.” The discussions seem to focus on the impact of technology on the delivery of online learning, but perhaps these discussions are a reflection of the past rather than to predict the future. Online learning technologies have historically been primarily used to expand access to classroom instruction in rural or remote sites. For most, online learning programs for adults have done with high levels of success long before the Internet or computer networks were profitable. Efforts to jump as a project in Mississippi and GOL TV programs are excellent examples of successful learning and effective online. In general, it is clear that online learning programs have exceeded their potential to enable adults in rural and remote communities have access to education. However, to facilitate access to “traditional classroom” sufficient reason to increase investment in new technologies such as video conferencing facilities and the Internet? The goal is simply to make a better mousetrap (faster ie issuing machine traditional instruction in the classroom)? We can improve our online learning programs cheap simple upgrade of existing transmission systems and existing cable. Instead, the emergence of new technologies allows us to change our approach to providing classroom instruction to deliver new materials and new ways to facilitate learning. In this environment, educational content issues, information resources, the theory looks and quality are paramount. The question is: “How can we carry the classroom” but rather, “What can we do with new technology to reform, change and improve adult learning?”? It is clear that we are not talking about learning, but begin to see distance education: o How learning looks when it is not bound by four walls and a teacher’s knowledge base? o How can we change our organizational structures that allow students to interact remotely with more than one instructor, other students, and a large amount of available resources? o How can we begin to conceptualize and implement experiences that take advantage of this new learning environment extended learning? The use of technology to create new models of adult learning may have an impact on the system of the provision of adult education. Adult education programs will become centers of learning rather than just places of learning. Does this mean that the formal classroom instruction will be considered obsolete and will be replaced? In fact, the number of classroom settings could increase as adults meet the educational needs of the new parameters. Those who had never considered entering an adult education program through the front door could soon go online, to their educational needs, to be motivated to learn and choose to participate in the classes of education adult interactions provided face-to-face. How successful we are moving from learning model of the family in line with the future model of distance education will depend, in part, on assumptions and make preparations now. We can begin to identify and plan what you want to happen. To shape the future, we must be proactive. To wait passively, we relegate the role of adaptation to technological change and environmental learning imposed on us, we offer five situations as starting points for developing a distance learning model: models will be improved or traditional online learning in the classroom are not replaced by new technologies. Based learning class will change, but the models will have an important and viable role. New technologies will be used to enhance formal learning. Students will have Internet tools at its disposal to help develop their own learning paths. Self-creation or learning activities will be commonplace. In the past, the resources necessary for personalization of learning are not available for teachers, students and many adults only. Network technologies, such as Internet databases and multimedia will significantly increase access to learning resources on a scale unknown in adult education. Distance education at some level, is on the personalization of learning for specific students. o teachers become facilitators of learning not transmitters of knowledge. Research has shown that advanced skills are not acquired through the transmission of facts, but per student to interact with the students learn content more effectively when they create, build and interact with knowledge and building its own meaning. o The future of learning is learning to connect with the world of work and at home. New technologies can provide these important links so that learning is relevant and skills developed in a configuration can be transferred to other contexts (home, work, school). Collaborative learning or stressed. Most adult learning emphasizes individual achievement and solving problems without the help of others. However, in the world of work and personal relationships, problem-solving partnership is no exception, but rather the role. Collaborative learning is process-oriented rather than isolated or single word answers questions. With the development of collaborative computing, adult learners in different locations can meet online to jointly solve problems anytime and anywhere. o staff development and teacher training should be continuous and permanent. Traditional staff development workshops models and presentations of the conference not meet the need of direct current technology. You will have to develop new methods of improvement and continuing education. The technology will help, but the development staff should be easily accessible. Planning for the future of distance education requires imagine how learning should change to a changing world. Distance education will only be effective if the earth and not focused on educational technology. The technology will be a powerful tool we use for continuous renewal, reflection and improvement. However, it is not in itself create a learning community of thousands of teachers and students to interact and to mobilize resources and at the same time construction and provide new resources. Only those with ideas can do this. |
